CHAMBER GETTING CLOSE TO FILLING DURHAM’S SHOES

SIOUX CITY—THE SIOUXLAND CHAMBER OF COMMERCE IS CLOSE TO PICKING A NEW PRESIDENT. DEBI DURHAM HELD THE POSITION FOR 15 YEARS AND WAS RECENTLY APPOINTED IOWA DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR.

BOARD CHAIR OF THE CHAMBER GREG GRUPP SAYS THEY HOPE TO EXTEND AN OFFER THIS WEEKEND AND HAVE THAT OFFER ACCEPTED BY EARLY NEXT WEEK.

GRUPP SAYS THEY HAD ROUGHLY 24 QUALIFIED CANDIDATES IN THE RUNNING FOR THE JOB AND HAVE WIDDLED THEM DOWN TO THREE.

HE SAYS THE NEW LEADER HAS SOME BIG SHOES TO FILL, WITH DURHAM HAVING GREAT EXPERIENCE AND CONNECTIONS.

GRUPP SAYS IT TAKES TIME TO BUILD THOSE RELATIONSHIPS AND HE’S SURE THE NEW HIRE WILL HIT THE GROUND RUNNING.
