SIOUX CITY–Iowa’s governor is hopeful about industries being attracted to the proposed new Yards I-29 Business Park. Sioux City officials have announced Global Foods Processing plans to expand to the John Morrell and Company site adding nearly 200 jobs. The project would be a 10-million dollar investment. Governor Terry Branstad said he’s hopeful Global Foods is the first of many companies to be attracted to that area of Sioux City. In Le Mars Friday for a “Jobs for Iowa Tour!”, the governor also said he’s hearing concerns about the need to improve the
transportation network. Next week, Branstad will appoint citizens to study transportation. The governor expects recommendations from the citizens group for action, hopefully he said, next year.
