MAN SENTENCED TO 50 YEARS FOR DRUGS IN SIOUX CITY

SIOUX CITY—A MINNESOTA MAN WHO CONSPIRED TO DISTRIBUTE METH AND COCAINE IN SIOUX CITY AND KIDNAPPED SOMEONE TO COLLECT A DRUG DEBT WAS SENTENCED LAST MONTH TO 50 YEARS IN PRISON.

29 YEAR OLD GERMAN ROBLES-GARCIA OF MINNEAPOLIS CONSPIRED TO DISTRIBUTE METH AND MORE THAN 5 KILOGRAMS OF COCAINE FROM APRIL 2009 THROUGH FEBRUARY 2010 IN SIOUXLAND.

HE TRAVELED TO IOWA TO RECOUP ROUGHLY $100-THOUSAND IN DRUG PROCEEDS OWED HIM BY A FELLOW DRUG DEALER, MARTIN GARCIA-HUERTA.

TO DO THIS, ROBLES-GARCIA AND TWO OTHERS KIDNAPPED RAUL TAPIA.

ROBLES-GARCIA HELD A GUN TO TAPIA’S HEAD DEMANDING TO KNOW WHERE GARCIA-HUERTA WAS, AND TAPIA WAS SENT TO COLLECT DRUG PROCEEDS AND PROVIDE THEM TO ROBLES-GARCIA.

ROBLES-GARCIA MUST ALSO SERVE A FIVE-YEAR TERM OF SUPERVISED RELEASE AFTER THE PRISON TERM.
