SIOUXLAND UNDER WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY SATURDAY

SIOUXLAND—WHILE SIOUXLAND IS UNDER A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FROM 3 A.M. TO 9 P.M. SATURDAY, AREAS NORTHEAST OF US ARE PREPARING FOR A BLIZZARD.

THE IOWA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION HAS ISSUED A TRAVEL ADVISORY FOR NORTHERN IOWA, WHERE A BLIZZARD IS FORECAST WITH UP TO 5 INCHES OF SNOW, STRONG WINDS AND FREEZING TEMPERATURES.

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE METEOROLOGIST KARL JUNGBLUTH, SAYS THE COLD AIR MOVING INTO THE REGION IS CREATING FOG, WHICH IS REDUCING VISIBILITY.

A MIX OF FREEZING RAIN, SLEET AND SNOW WILL ADD TO THE PROBLEM OVERNIGHT.

THE HEAVIEST SNOW IS EXPECTED NORTH OF HIGHWAY 20.

HE SAYS WINDCHILLS HIGH TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO RANGE FROM ZERO TO 20 ACROSS THE STATE ON SUNDAY AND MONDAY.
