CHANGE BATTERIES AND CLOCKS THIS WEEKEND

SIOUXLAND—WHEN YOU CHANGE YOUR CLOCKS THIS WEEKEND, ALSO CHANGE THOSE BATTERIES.

FIRE OFFICIALS ENCOURAGE YOU TO CHECK YOUR SMOKE ALARM TWICE A YEAR, AND WHAT BETTER TIME THAN WHEN DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME BEGINS AND ENDS.

SIOUX CITY FIRE RESCUE PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICER JOE RODRIGUEZ SAYS IT’S IMPORTANT TO MAKE SURE THE ALARMS WORK AND THAT AN ESCAPE ROUTE IS KNOWN.

LAST YEAR, THERE WERE 229 FIRES IN SIOUX CITY AND 80-PERCENT OF THOSE WERE IN RESIDENTIAL HOMES.

YOUR CLOCKS NEED TO “FALL” BEHIND AN HOUR SUNDAY MORNING AT 2 A.M.
