SIOUXLAND—OVER 30-THOUSAND WOODBURY COUNTY RESIDENTS MADE THEIR VOTE COUNT THIS ELECTION DAY.

VOTERS ELECTED MICHAEL CLAYTON OVER KATIE COLLING, TO BE THE NEXT WOODBURY COUNTY TREASURER.

RICK BERTRAND DEFEATED RICK MULLIN IN THE RACE FOR STATE SENATE DISTRICT 1.

BILL ANDERSON BEAT MARTY POTTEBAUM FOR THE SENATE DISTRICT 27 SEAT AND JEREMY TAYLOR BEAT DAVID DAWSON FOR IOWA HOUSE DISTRICT 1.

CHRIS HALL WON THE DISTRICT 2 HOUSE SEAT OVER CATE BRYAN AND GEORGE BOYKIN DEFEATED CURRENT SIOUX CITY MAYOR MIKE HOBART FOR THE COUNTY SUPERVISOR SEAT AND DAVE TRIPP BEAT INCUMBENT DOUG WALISH FOR COUNTY SUPERVISOR.

THE CURRENT THURSTON COUNTY SHERIFF WILL BECOME SHERIFF IN DAKOTA COUNTY COME NEXT YEAR.

REPUBLICAN CHRIS KLEINBERG WAS VICTORIOUS OVER DEMOCRAT RICHARD ERICKSON AND INDEPENDENT ANTHONY BOS.

FINAL NUMBERS WERE 2221 FOR KLEINBERG, ERICKSON WITH 786 VOTES AND BOS WALKING AWAY WITH 1024.

KLEINBERG SAYS DAKOTA COUNTY IS HIS HOME, BUILDING A HOUSE AND TO RESTORE THE DIGNITY OF THE DAKOTA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE.

IN OTHER DAKOTA COUNTY RACES, JERRY BOBIER, MARCIA MAHON AND ANN O’NEILL GRABBED SEATS ON THE SOUTH SIOUX CITY SCHOOL BOARD.

THE SOUTH SIOUX CITY CITY COUNCIL WILL FEATURE ROD KOCH, JOHN SANDERS, DENNIS NELSON AND BRUCE DAVIS.

DAKOTA COUNTY VOTERS ALSO VOTED AGAINST PROPOSED AMENDMENT NUMBER 1, WHICH WOULD HAVE ALLOWED A CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT TO CHANGE THE POWERS OF MUNICIPALITIES RELATING TO FUND SOURCES FOR ECONOMIC OR INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT.
