ECKERT MAY TRADE SIOUX CITY FOR IOWA CITY

SIOUX CITY—SIOUX CITY MAY SOON BE LOOKING FOR A NEW CITY MANAGER.
CURRENT MANAGER PAUL ECKERT IS A FINALIST FOR THE POSITION OF CITY MANAGER OF IOWA CITY.
HE WILL BE INTERVIEWED NEXT WEEK IN IOWA CITY, WHICH HAS A POPULATION OF 65-THOUSAND AND IS IOWA’S 5TH LARGEST CITY, WHILE SIOUX CITY HAS 85-THOUSAND RESIDENTS AND IS IOWA’S 4TH LARGEST CITY.
ECKERT HAS SERVED THE CITY FOR OVER 13 YEARS AND HIS CURRENT EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT RUNS THROUGH MAY 2012.
SIOUX CITY MAYOR MIKE HOBART SAYS THE COUNCIL AND CITY MANAGER HAVE GREAT MUTUAL RESPECT FOR EACH OTHER.
HE SAYS THE CITY WILL MONITOR THE EVENTS NEXT WEEK AND STAY IN CLOSE CONTACT WITH ECKERT.
