MAYOR EXTREMELY GRATEFUL NO ONE WAS HURT IN COLLAPSE

CORRECTIONVILLE—THE MAYOR OF CORRECTIONVILLE SAYS HE IS EXTREMELY GRATEFUL NO ONE WAS INJURED IN TUESDAY MORNING’S BUILDING COLLAPSE.
JERRY HYLER SAYS THE SECOND FLOOR OF THE DOWNTOWN OPERA HOUSE, WHICH WAS VACANT, COLLAPSED AND THERE IS NO FIRE, GAS LEAK OR EXPLOSION TO BLAME.
HYLER SAYS IT APPEARS THE 117 YEAR OLD BUILDING, WHICH OVER THE YEARS HAS HOUSED A GROCERY STORE AND RESTAURANT, CRUMBLED BECAUSE OF OLD AGE.
HE SAYS THE COUPLE THAT HAD REFURBISHED THE BOTTOM FLOOR AND TURNED IT INTO THEIR HOME WERE INSIDE WHEN THE COLLAPSE OCCURRED, BUT WERE ABLE TO ESCAPE UNINJURED.
HYLER SAYS THERE IS NO VISIBLE DAMAGE TO THE GROUND FLOOR EXCEPT FOR THE SHATTERED WINDOWS.
