SIOUX CITY—The judge presiding over the case of a Sioux City man accused in the death of his 4-month-old daughter has reached a verdict. Woodbury County District Court officials say Judge James Scott found Paul Hill guilty of child endangerment Thursday afternoon. Attorneys wrapped up closing arguments this week in the 21-year-old’s trial. He’s pleaded not guilty to endangerment in the 2009 death of Tryniti Hill. Police say Hill called 911, saying his baby wasn’t breathing. She later died at a hospital. Authorities say the child suffered multiple injuries. Prosecutors say Hill waited too long to call 911, partly because he was unhappy with the relationship with the baby’s mother. But defense attorneys say Hill is innocent and was tricked into giving a confession.
