CAMP HIGH HOPES RECEIVES FEDERAL BOOST

SIOUX CITY—CAMP HIGH HOPES IN SIOUX CITY IS A STEP CLOSER TO THEIR 7.3-MILLION DOLLAR CAPITOL CAMPAIGN, THANKS TO A GRANT FROM THE U-S DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR ALI LANGSETH SAYS THE 300-THOUSAND DOLLAR GRANT WILL SUPPLY THE FURNISHINGS AND TECHNOLOGY EQUIPMENT NEEDED TO SUPPORT THE PLANNED YEAR-ROUND RECREATIONAL FACILITY FOR THOSE WITH SPECIAL NEEDS.

SHE SAYS THE OTHER 7-MILLION DOLLARS WILL PAY FOR THEIR 90 ACRES OF LAND ON CORRECTIONVILLE ROAD, CONSTRUCTION OF A 21-THOUSAND SQUARE FOOT LODGE, TWO 7-THOUSAND SQUARE FOOT CABINS, MEDICAL CENTER AND OFFICE.

LANGSETH SAYS ONCE THE CAMP IS BUILT, PARTICIPANTS WILL BE ABLE TO GO HORSE-BACK RIDING, CAMPING, ENJOY ARCHERY AND ROPES COURSES.

LANGSETH HOPES TO HAVE CAMP HIGH HOPES UP AND RUNNING IN 2012.
