COLONEL BUD DAY WILL KICK START RIVERCADE

SIOUX CITY—FOR 47 YEARS, THE RIVERCADE PARADE HAS SIGNALLED THE BEGINNING OF THE FESTIVAL HERE IN SIOUXLAND. THIS YEAR, THERE’S A VERY SPECIAL SIOUXLANDER SERVING AS THE PARADE MARSHALL.

RIVERCADE PARADE DIRECTOR PHIL CLAEYS MADE THE ANNOUNCEMENT AT THE FRIDAY MORNING MAYOR’S PRESS CONFERENCE THAT COLONEL BUD DAY WILL BE THIS YEAR’S MARSHALL.

COLONEL BUD DAY SERVED FIVE YEARS AS A PRISONER OF WAR DURING THE VIETNAM CONFLICT, AND REMAINS THE MOST DECORATED AIR FORCE OFFICER IN HISTORY AS WELL AS THE MOST DECORATED LIVING OFFICER IN THE UNITED STATED TODAY.

THE PARADE IS SET FOR FOR WEDNESDAY, JULY 21ST AT 6 P-M.
